IDA Equestrian Takes Second at Maine Show

NEWBURGH CENTRE, Maine – The Johnson & Wales University IDA equestrian team wrapped up the fall campaign on Saturday. The Wildcats placed second at the University of Maine show.

Johnson & Wales had a pair of riders win their events. Maggie Dickey (Cumberland, Maine) posted a score of 72.5 percent in upper training to earn high point rider of the show. Rookie Abby Dwyer (Marlborough, Conn.) won the intro division with a score of 70.938 percent and garnered reserve high point of the show.

Sophomore Syndey Blais (Johnston, RI) took second in the lower training level division with a score of 70.43 percent.

Also placing in intro was Lauren Sirek (Newburyport, Mass.) with a fourth-place score of 64.688 percent. In the first level division, Lindsey Vollinger (Hatfield, Mass.) recorded a score of 66.111 percent to place fourth.

Johnson & Wales will resume its competition schedule during the spring.
