WINTHROP, Mass. – On Saturday, Johnson & Wales University men's basketball player Brian Hogan-Gary accomplished a feat that hadn't been done by a Wildcat in seven years. On Monday, he was named GNAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Hogan-Gary (Staten Island, NY) shares the award with Lasell's Stefan Masciarelli. Brendan Mulson from Suffolk picked up Rookie of the Week.
In the 71-66 win at Anna Maria, Hogan-Gary led all players with 23 points to go along with 10 rebounds and 10 steals. It's the first triple-double by a Wildcat since Lamonte Thomas had 25 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 94-86 win at Albertus Magnus on January 25, 2011. He narrowly missed out on the quadruple-double with eight assists and added a pair of blocks.
The Wildcats are on the road Tuesday when they travel to Saint Joseph's for a 7 p.m. tip.
