JWU Women’s Soccer Drops 4-0 Decision Against RPI

The women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision against host RPI at the Rensselaer Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

RPI took the early lead just 2:12 into the game when senior Kirsten Bombadier headed in a corner kick from Nikki Goodsell for what would prove to be the game winner.  Junior Sarah Rothschild had a pair of goals in the victory for the Engineers.  

JWU freshman goalkeeper Cassie Collins (Oswego, N.Y.) notched seven saves in the setback while Deanna Amora had one stop in the shutout win for RPI.

With the loss Johnson & Wales falls to 0-2 for the season while RPI improves to 1-1 on the year. JWU will return to action on Friday, September 7th when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Fort Rapids Tournament.  The Wildcats will face off against Capital at 4:00 p.m.
