Women’s Tennis Shuts Out Becker, 9-0

The women's tennis team posted a commanding 9-0 victory against Becker in a non-conference contest at the Moses Brown Courts on Saturday afternoon.

The Wildcats remain undefeated in singles play on the year after sweeping all six matches for the second straight time.  Five of the six singles contests were perfect 6-0, 6-0 results.

Johnson & Wales freshman Kathryn Farrar (Dublin, Ohio) had a 6-0, 6-0 shutout win at No. 1 singles and teamed with sophomore Darcy Predieri (Sunbury, Ohio) for an 8-1 win at the top doubles spot.  Predieri also had a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles for the Wildcats.  Junior Ansley Sego (Naperville, Ill.) recorded a pair of victories on the day, posting a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles and an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.

With the win Johnson & Wales improves to 2-0 while Becker falls to 1-3 for the year.  The Wildcats will return to action on Thursday, September 13th when they travel to UMass Boston for a non-conference contest at 3:30 p.m.
